What is YFAB?
BeLit’s Young Friends Advisory Board is comprised of literacy allies who share a passion for uplifting their fellow Philadelphians with the transformative power of education.
Through volunteerism and community engagement, YFAB makes meaningful connections and change for striving adults citywide.

YFAB Membership Opportunities
Yellow
Membership Cost: Free
Time Commitment: Volunteer weekly in one of the following positions:
- Adult Learning Tutor (in-person, 3 hours/week)
- Remote Class Assistant (virtual, 3 hours/week)
Orange
Membership Cost: $100
Time Commitment: Volunteer monthly in one of the following positions:
- Career Mentor (remote, 1-2 hours/month)
- English Conversation Partner (in-person or remote, 1-2 hours/month)
Blue
Membership Cost: $250
Time Commitment: Volunteer Annually in the following position:
- Student Support Workshop Presenter (1 per year, remote)
- Host a “Friendraiser” to introduce your friends and colleagues to BeLit (with staff support)
