BeLit Programs
Free classes and training to achieve personal and professional goals.
PROGRAMS
Beyond Literacy’s free classes and programs create life-changing opportunities— not only for the 1,500 adult learners we serve citywide — but for their families and the community-at-large.
Adult Basic Education
TAILORED INSTRUCTION
Beyond Literacy’s Adult Basic Education Program helps learners improve their reading, writing, and math skills. Proficiency in these areas is a game-changer for people who are otherwise unable to attain employment, thrive in school, gain citizenship, and pursue other life opportunities.
English Language Learning
English as a Second Language
Many immigrants and refugees coming to Philadelphia have reached safety by escaping great hardships, poverty, and unrest, and seek freedom and better economic opportunities. Our learners range from having experienced little to no schooling to being accomplished professionals in their homeland.
Computer Basics and Digital Skills
Bridging the digital divide
Beyond Literacy provides essential tech support to our learners and the greater Philadelphia community. With weekly computer skills workshops at our centers, in addition to our Mobile Learning Lab which travels to commmunities in most need, BeLit is helping bridge the digital divide.
